Boutin Family Reunion Tradition
In the summer of 1985, the eight living children of Albert and Alvina Boutin gathered in Massachusetts with their descendants for the first official Boutin Family Reunion. They created a reunion image depicting the family as a beautiful flowering plant rooted in the love and support of Albert and Alvina. Each branch of the family chose a unique color to represent them.
Every five years from 1985-2005, the family gathered for a reunion in Massachusetts, where Albert and Alvina raised their children. In 2010, only three of their children, the originators of the Reunion, were living. Due to a lack of coordination between the family branches, a small reunion was held that year on a cruise. Much of the family could not afford to attend or were not aware of the details. No reunion was held in 2015.
Many of the family’s younger members have reconnected in the past several years through Facebook, renewing the connections and closeness of Albert and Alvina’s family. A new Reunion Committee is being formed and plans are being made to continue the Reunion Tradition in 2020.
